paper money error

Over the weekend I attended our local coin clubs annual show where I purchased a error note type I have never seen published.  The paper itself is seperating like the pages of a book.  Does anyone know a proper description or a value for that type?

This is not an error note. Wet intaglio notes (pre-Series 1957 $1 Silvers and pre-Series 1963 all others) could be split with a razor blade and a steady hand. I have a $1 Silver similar to yours. I bought it from a SPMC charter member over 40 years ago. He told me that was how it was produced. I have seen a few others over the years. Only one of those notes was completely split in two. The others were partially split like mine and yours. The SPMC charter member was T. Homer Brooks. He compared the act of splitting notes in half with a razor blade to whittling. It was a way to pass time.

Frank E, Clark - Thank you!

This is great information. I have a North Africa bill that was split just the same. I was wondering how this was done. So reading your article helped a lot. This is the pictures. If some one can provide additional information, I would greatly apresiate is.
