Chuck O'Donnell

Mr. O'Donnell was member SPMC #3473. He served as SPMC governor from 1967-1981.  He was awarded a president;s award of merit and the Nathan Gold award in 1980. He was a co-author of the Standard Handbook of Modern United States Paper Money first published in 1968.

Judith Murphy

One of the true grande dames of currency, Judith with her husband Claud were stalwarts for the SPMC. She served the society relentlessly for many years. She holds SPMC member #7792; Life Member #262 and Honorary Life Member #11.  Judith served the SPMC as president from 1993-1995; vice president 1991-1993; governor 1989-1992 and 1997-2001; new member coordinator 1995-1996 and regional meetings coordinator 1996-2016.  She was awarded a president's award of merit in 1999 and the Nathan Gold award in 2015. Carlton Frederick "Fred" Schwan

An avid collector, author and researcher of MPC, Mr. Schwann formed the BNR press in 1977. He has authored numerous articles and reference books on MPC and military currency solo and in partnership with Joe Boling. Mr. Schwan and Mr. Boling write a monthly column in Paper Money "Uncoupled" that has been voted the favorite column by readers.

Joseph E. "Joe" Boling

Mr. Boling holds SPMC member #3967. An avid collector of paper money specializing in Japanese and worldwide counterfeit currency, he is frequent presenter on the topic. He was awarded the Stephen Taylor Best in Show exhibit award in 1982. He has authored many articles and books on MPC and military currency solo and with his partner Fred Schwan. He and Mr.

Raphael Prosper Thian

Served as chief clerk with adjutant general of the United States 1861 to 1865.  He was the author of Currency of the Confederates States in 1884 that was illustrated with actual Confederate bank notes from his collection. His currency collection was sold at auction by David Proskey January 15, 1885

Herb & Martha Schingoethe

The Schingoethes were pioneers in the field of U.S. ephemera, specializing in the 19th and 20th centuries, and created notable collections of everyday objects, and were especially fond of obsolete currency and their collection of obsolete currency was considered one of the finest in the nation.  They co-authored a reference book on the subject entitled College Currency: Money for Business.

Michael Crabb

Mr. Crabb holds SPMC member #3285 and honorary life member #4.  He served as chairman of the Memphis Coin Club's International Paper Money Show for many years. He served as SPMC governor 1976-1996, publicity chairman in 1992 and was chair of the nominating committee in 1978 and 1992. He was awarded the Nathan Gold award in 1977 and an ANA President's award in 2011.

Walter Allan

Mr. Allan has SPMC membership #1477 and is life member #311.  He served as SPMC governor from 1982-1986; was chairman of the nominating committee in 1984. He won the Dr. Glenn Jackson Literary award in 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 and the Julian Blanchard Exhibit Award in 1969, 1972, 1973, 1978 and 1995.

Fred Reed

A renowned author and researcher, Mr. Reed holds SPMC membership #4912. He served the SPMC as secretary from 1998-2012; governor 1998-2001; nominating committee chair 1999 and Wait prize chair 1999-2014. He also served as editor for Paper Money from 1999-2014 taking the publication to new highs and winning multiple ANA and NLG awards for the magazine. He was award a president's award of merit in 2000 and 2012 and the Nathan Gold award in 1996 and 2001. He was the first recipient of the Forrest Daniel Excellence in Literature award in 2007.

Albert Pick

Mr. Pick held SPMC member #352. He received a president's award of merit in 1972 and the Nathan Gold Memorial Award in 1975. He was the author of Standard Catalog of World Paper Money which by many elevated world paper money collecting to a position it had never approached before his first catalog came out in 1975. .
