Forrest Wayne Daniel
Forrest Daniel was a founding member of the SPMC who carried member number 121. Along with Brent Hughes, he designed the SPMC logo unveiled ton August 18, 1972. He served as SPMC governor from 1970-1976 and served the society on many committees. He was awarded the Nathan Gold award in 1993, the George W. Wait award in 2002 and the Award of Merit in 1983 and 2000. He was also named an honorary life member in 2002. A prolific author, he wrote oveer 150 articles that appeard in Paper Money and was awarded a total of 10 literary awards.
Mark Anderson
Mark Anderson has served the society selflessly for many years. A collector of Spanish Civil War notes among a myriad of other areas, his exhibit of Swedish Plate Money won the SPMC Best-in-show award at the IPMC in Memphis in 2017. He has served as governor, president and treasurer among other committees. He has recieved two awards of merit, 2009 & 2022, social media award in 2019 and the Nathan Gold award in 2015.
Brent Hughes
'Mr. Confederate' as he was known by many was SPMC founding member #7. He, along with Forrest Daniel designed the SPMC logo that was unveiled on August 18, 1972. He served as SPMC governor from 1969-1974 and was awarded two Awards of merit in 1974 and 2000, three literary awards and the Nathan Gold award in 1997. A prolific author, he wrote 68 articles for Paper Money and many more for other publications.
Robert Medlar
Medlar was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1922 and passed away on 1/4/1991. Best known as a collector of Texas banknotes, he began collecting in 1950. He was the owner of the Glascock Supply Company, distributer of numismatic books and supplies. Medlar was a charter member of the Society of Paper Money Collectors and served as vice president 1971 to 1975 and as president 1975 to 1979. He was the top recruiter from 1977 to 1979 and wrote 14 articles for Paper Money. He served on the Assay Commission for 1969.He also served as chief assayer for the Old Timer Assay Commissioners Society.
John & Nancy Wilson
John and Nancy Wilson are a super involved couple. Collectors of paper money, Wisconsin tokens and medals, porcelain coins and medals, Civil War tokens and numismatic literature they are tireless supporters of the hobby. Long time members of the SPMC, John holds life member #127 and Nancy is life member #140. John was on the board of governors of SPMC from 1983-1986. Nancy is the consummate exhibitor and has won many exhibit awards including the SPMC Best in Show award 3 times.
